Goals
To be successful KAECS recognizes that an organization made up of people who share a set of key values, embedded in all its interventions. Five core values will shape the actions of everyone tasked to manage its affairs, and determine our responses to the challenges we meet:
Putting the wellbeing of members first, in everything we do. KAECS will at all time strive to secure the interests of its members through due diligence, best practices, value for money and applying international best practices and statutory regulations as stipulated under the Cooperatives Act
Recruit the best and empower them to work with the Cooperative: Strong leadership will help empower every member, encouraging them to act with integrity at all times, be open to new methods of working, and to make best use of opportunities for personal and entrepreneur development. KAECS will achieve its objectives by raising expectations and helping our members to meet them. Every member, trustee and partner is an ambassador for KAECS, whether they are answering a phone call or running a project. KAECS will part with other like-minded organizations to realize aspiration.
Inspire partners/people to work with us. While KAECS may work with small savings and loans groups such as Village Saving and Loans Associations (VSLA), or multinational agencies to deliver change, the Cooperative will Endeavour to make sure that all of them are inspired by the KAECS ethos and what it is trying to achieve.
Reflect, learn, share and support others to develop highly effective ways of working. KAECS is committed to building and upholding its culture of striving to achieve high standards in everything it does. We aim to be an organization that constantly learns from our endeavors, our partners, from the communities we work with, and from external agencies and governments both county and national. We monitor and evaluate our work to measure the differences we are making and actively share the results with others.
Development of interventions that meet KAEC’s empowerment values- including personal anc community empowerment; geographical focus for enhanced delivery of quality interventions; listening and appropriately responding to our beneficiaries and needs for enhanced accountability; increased sustainability in all programme interventions; livelihoods, agribusiness and enterprise initiatives geared towards improving the quality of life; and improve our evidence for why we are delivering them.

Delivery and Installation of Posho Mill at Farmer’s Farm
One of our member suppliers successfully delivered and installed a posho mill at the farm of our beneficiaries. The supplier handled transport, assembly, and setup of the machine, ensuring it was properly installed in a prepared structure with a stable power source.
After installation, the team conducted test runs and trained the farmer on operation, maintenance, and safety. This posho mill will enable the farmer to process his maize on-site, reducing post-harvest losses and generating additional income by serving neighboring farmers.
We appreciate the supplier’s professionalism and look forward to the positive impact this will have on the farmer’s productivity and the local community.
